Why does the app say Instagram needs reconnecting?
Instagram stopped letting the app read your posts. Your feed keeps showing your last posts. Click Reconnect Instagram on Home, or Reconnect in Settings, to start syncing again.
Error states
Section titled “Error states”- Instagram disconnected your account (this happens after a password change or when access is removed). → Instagram ended the app’s access. → Click Reconnect Instagram and log in again.
- Access to Instagram was removed. → The app was removed under Instagram’s Apps and websites settings. → Click Reconnect Instagram and allow access.
- Instagram didn’t give us permission to read your posts. → Access to your profile or posts wasn’t allowed when connecting. → Reconnect and allow access to your profile and posts.
- Instagram asked us to slow down. → Instagram limits how often apps read posts. → Nothing to do. The app syncs again in a few minutes.
- Instagram didn’t respond. → Instagram was briefly unavailable. → Nothing to do. The app tries again shortly.
- Note: In Settings, the account shows Needs attention until you reconnect.
- Note: If disconnect emails are on, you get an email when this happens.
