Why is my post-purchase offer not showing?

Your post-purchase offer usually doesn’t show because Zegsu Upsell isn’t selected as your store’s post-purchase app. Shopify’s default is None, so customers skip straight to the thank-you page. Work through the checks below.

  1. In Shopify admin, open Settings → Checkout and scroll to Post-purchase page. Select Zegsu Upsell and click Save. You can also use Open checkout settings on the app’s Checkout page.
  2. In Zegsu Upsell, open the Checkout page. Check that Show one-click upsells after payment is on.
  3. Check that at least one offer has a product chosen, then click Save if you made changes.
  4. Make sure your test order does not include the offered product. Offers are not shown for products the customer just bought.
  5. Check that the offered product is in stock and available.
  6. Place a new test order using a card payment, not Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or similar.
  • Note: Only one app per store can be selected under Post-purchase page. If another upsell app is selected, Zegsu Upsell offers won’t show.
  • Note: Shopify may skip the after-payment page for some payment methods and express checkouts, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Klarna. This is a Shopify limitation. Use the thank-you page offer to reach these customers.
  • Note: If both offers are for products in the order, nothing is shown.
  • Note: After declining the first offer, the customer sees the second offer, if you added one.
  • “We couldn’t add this to your order” → The customer accepted, but the product could not be added. → The original order is still complete. Check the offer product is in stock and try a new test order.
