How do I create a Buy X, get Y free offer?

Use the Buy X, get Y free template, or set any tier’s Discount to Free items. The Quantity is the total number of items, including the free ones. The cheapest items in the tier are free.

Steps

1. Open Offers and click Create offer.
2. Click Use this on Buy X, get Y free.
3. Choose the products under Show this offer on.
4. For each tier, set Quantity to the total items, for example 3 for “Buy 2, get 1 free”.
5. Set Free items to how many of those are free, for example 1.
6. Update the Label to match, for example “Buy 2, get 1 free”.
7. Click Save and go live.

Notes

• Note: Free items must be at least 1 and fewer than the tier’s quantity.
• Note: The cheapest items are always the free ones, even when customers mix variants.
• Note: To run “buy 2 from a collection, get 1 free”, choose Collections, tags or vendors and set How items count to Mix & match across these products.
• Note: The Offers list shows these tiers as “buy X get Y”.
• Note: For a free gift that is a different product, use a free gift offer instead.
