What Shopify permissions does Zegsu Upsell need?
Zegsu Upsell asks for four Shopify permissions. Each one is used for a specific feature.
Permissions and why they are needed
Section titled “Permissions and why they are needed”- Read orders: to show revenue from offers and the orders that used an offer on the Analytics and Orders pages. Only order totals and order numbers are used, not customer details.
- Read products: to let you pick products, collections and variants for your offers, and to show previews with your own products.
- Read themes: to check whether the widget and the cart drawer are turned on in your published theme.
- Write discounts: to create the discounts that apply your offer prices, free gifts and cart rewards at checkout.
- Note: The app does not edit your theme code. It uses app embeds and blocks that you control in the theme editor.
- Note: Revenue from orders also needs a separate approval from Shopify. Until it is granted, a banner says revenue is waiting, and views and add-to-carts still show.
- Note: When you uninstall, Shopify removes the app’s discounts automatically.
